ACTIVITIES
Connamarra offers many on-site activities to help with relaxation of the mind, body and soul. Reading by the lake, walking our bridal trail or wandering the nearby paths (with a buddy, of course!) may be as much activity as you want. Bird-watchers and hikers appreciate the mountain lake and surrounding fir forests which make Connamarra a seasonal stopping place for a wide variety of migratory as well as indigenous birds, including great blue herons, eagles, osprey, spotted owls, screech owls and ravens.
For those looking for more adventure, there are many world-class tourist attractions just a short drive from Connamarra. The Hell’s Gate Airtram is 25 minutes north of Connamarra and offers a guided ride and breathtaking views of one of the Fraser River’s stunning rock gorges. Just south of us are the famous Othello train tunnels; a series of railway tunnels blasted through the mountains a century ago. Daylong river rafting tours on the Fraser, Thompson or Coquihalla rivers are also available from a number of nearby outdoor adventure companies.
More information about developed hiking trails for the more adventurous visitors as well as local fishing, golfing, wine tasting and white-water rafting venues can be found at many of the B.C. Tourism websites.
